Featuring a pair of beautiful antique Victorian 9K 375 yellow gold Pietra Dura Florence Italy floral motif pierced round earrings adorned with mosaic stones seamlessly set together set in a decorative gold bezel setting. Earrings measure approximately .9 inches in diameter at 6.87 grams respectively. These beautiful handcrafted earrings are in excellent condition, seemed to have been modified to be pierced, both backings present with all stones intact. Tested as at least 10K, earrings are faintly marked 375 on the reverse . A fabulous, collectible pair of wearable investment earrings.
Pietra Dura” means in Italian: “hard stone”.
The art of inlay work goes back to the 16th century, with precisely adapted fittings being laid, glued and sanded to a mirror-like finish
